Akademi Bangku Panjang Mingguraya (ABPM) has successfully carried out the “Bahasa Panggung Mingguraya” (Poetry in Action) activities, which is a Government Assistance (Banpem) program facilitated by the Language Development and Fostering Agency – Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).
Held five times, once a month, the Poetry in Action activities took place from July to November 2023. The activities included poetry readings, poetry musicalization, traditional madihin art, and music. Many communities were involved, including Sanggar Ar-Rumi, Darussalam Islamic Institute, Sanggar Talas, Faperta ULM, UKM Artspedia Fak Teknik ULM, SGO Mipa ULM, South Kalimantan People’s School, Deaf Friends Community, and the general public.
Additionally, there was also the provision of appreciation or assistance to writers aged 60 and above. In each activity, two writers received assistance. A total of 10 writers aged 60 and above received appreciation, namely: Micky Hidayat, Yadi Muryadi, Iberamsyah Barbary, Ibramsyah Amandit, Buya Al-Banjary, Muslim Anang, Gusti Ardiansyah, Chandra Hasan, Arsyad Indradi, Muchlis Mama (Julak Larau).
At the final performance on November 3, 2023, the event was attended by representatives from the Center for Language and Literature Development and Protection, Nur Ahid Prastyawan, and Kemenkop PMK Ferdiansyah. Also present was the Head of the South Kalimantan Language Center, Armiati Rasyid.

For the five-month Banpem activities, he said everything had been carried out well and smoothly. “But remember, the report must be submitted quickly,” he advised.
Next, the “Inspiration Hero of Exemplary” activities took place. Community representatives presented various performances, including poetry readings, madihin, and musicalization. As usual, prizes in the form of books and event t-shirts were given to the performers.
“All activities, held five times a month, went smoothly, and community participation was enthusiastic. We are grateful that this event was able to provide appreciation to writers and artists aged 60 and above,” said HE Benyamine, Director of Akademi Bangku Panjang Mingguraya, at the end of the event.
Benyamine further stated that the facilitation from the Banpem Language Development and Fostering Agency – Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) greatly helped the community in developing activities.
“We thank you for the successful implementation of this event. Hopefully, in the coming years, this assistance can be provided and further enhanced,” concluded Benyamine.
